Supporters of Gaza protest across the UK
Supporters of Palestine continued their weekly rallies in dozens of locations across the UK. |
One day after the British Prime Minister warned about increasing security measures and police pressure, pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in the British capital and 50 other places in the country.
According to the Guardian, the protest in London was directed towards the headquarters of the bank “Barkills”, which, according to the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, has “significant financial links” with the arms companies that send weapons to Tel Aviv.
Hearings indicate that the slogan “from the river to the sea” was also given at the London demonstration.
One of the demonstrators told the Guardian that he was “extremely disappointed” that the British Prime Minister mixed peaceful protests with extremism in his recent statements.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak warned in a message addressed to the participants of the pro-Palestinian demonstrations yesterday that “demonstrations” and “democracy” are targeted by “extremists” and that these people intend to “hijack” the pro-Palestine demonstrations.
Before him, the British Home Secretary, in a note he wrote for the Times magazine, claimed that the supporters of Palestine have achieved what they wanted in their demonstrations over the past 4 months, and it is time to end their protests.
