Haley defeated Trump in the Washington primary
The former US ambassador to the United Nations was able to win the Republican primaries for the first time in competition with Donald Trump. |
Nicky Haley, the US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, beat Trump in the presidential primaries of this party in Washington DC, to register his first victory.
According to Al-Quds al-Arabi report, based on all polling station reports, Haley won 1,274 votes compared to 676 votes of Donald Trump, the former president of the United States. The former United Nations ambassador’s victory for Elaine Barr after six state ballots put her in the running for the Republican nomination. It’s a much-needed win for Haley to show she can outdo Trump somewhere, but she still has a long way to go.
He vowed to stay in the race at least until Super Tuesday this week, when more than a dozen states will go to the polls. But he failed to win any primary voting states in January and February.
However, according to the latest polls, about 42 percent of voters who participated in the Republican primary said that Trump would be unfit to serve if convicted. On the other hand the last survey conducted by New York Times and Siena which was published a while ago showed 48% of American voters support Trump and 43% support Joe Biden, the current US president.
