Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri said in a meeting with “Sigrid Kag”, the coordinator of UN humanitarian aid in Gaza and Palestinian affairs, that the UN Security Council is under pressure. It is a legal and humanitarian responsibility for Israel to comply with international laws and end the obstruction in the field of aid entering Gaza.
In this meeting, he also warned about the humanitarian consequences of targeted efforts to attack the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the actions of some countries in the context of suspending their aid to this agency in the midst of the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza. : This relief agency should not be involved in narrow-minded political tensions.
In the end, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity of resuming funding for UNRWA with the aim of enabling its activities in line with providing services to the Palestinians based on its international responsibilities.
