However, a short section of the US Constitution deals with the disqualification of candidates. Part of the text of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution states: “A person who, as an officer of the United States, has previously taken an oath to support the Constitution of the United States, but who shall afterwards rebel against his own State, or aid the dependent enemies thereof, shall not to hold any public or military office in the United States or in any of its states.”

This was the legal argument of the Democrats and Republicans against Trump to prevent him from running in the 2024 presidential election; Because he has been accused of trying to invalidate the results of the 2020 election on January 6, 2021 and send his supporters to the Congress building.

However, the US Supreme Court announced today that the 14th amendment of the country’s constitution does not mean that Trump will not have the right to participate in the elections. In this way, the legal debates over the possibility of Trump participating in the elections have ended and he can continue his election activities like other candidates.
