Canada is considering sending non-combatant military advisers to Ukraine
The Minister of Defense of Canada announced that this country will send non-combatant military advisors to Ukraine in case of special circumstances. |
Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said that if certain conditions are met, Canada will consider sending military advisers to Ukraine, but these conditions do not exist yet.
According to the report of Al-Yum Al-Seveni, he added: Any Canadian military personnel will be deployed only in non-combat roles.
Blair said: Currently, the conditions are not suitable for conducting this training in Ukraine, but we will continue training. Meanwhile, Canada has trained more than 40,000 Ukrainian soldiers as part of the unification process that began in 2015 after the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
Last Wednesday, the Financial Times quoted “an informed European defense official” and announced that French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent statements about the possible deployment of Western forces in Ukraine were aimed at creating deterrence and an ambiguity strategy against Russia. And everyone knows that Western special forces are now present in Ukraine.
This European defense official, whose name was not mentioned by the Financial Times, said: “Everyone knows that Western special forces are present in Ukraine, but they have not officially confirmed it yet.”
Meanwhile, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian presidency, announced that if western forces are sent to Ukraine, a direct conflict between NATO and Russia will not be a possibility but inevitable.
