According to Al Jazeera, in the latest China-Philippines conflict in the South China Sea, the Philippine Coast Guard claimed that one of its boats was harassing Beijing ships in an attempt to prevent Amad’s mission and Manila’s support has been damaged.
Philippine Coast Guard spokesman Jay Tarilla said that the incident occurred near an area called “Second Thomas Shoal” in the disputed Spratly archipelago in the South China Sea.

He has published a video and pictures on the X channel that shows a Chinese ship hitting the chest of the Philippine Amad ship.
Tarilla wrote on Twitter: Philippine Coast Guard ships encountered dangerous maneuvers and harassment by Coast Guard ships and militias affiliated with the Chinese Navy. Their reckless and illegal actions led to a collision between the ship MRRV-4407 and the Chinese Coast Guard 21555, causing minor damage to the Philippine ship.
Tensions in the South China Sea have escalated in the last one year, so that Manila has accused Beijing of dangerous actions and maneuvers around its own boats and expressed its protest many times through diplomatic channels.
