Germany’s withdrawal from the delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine
In the middle of the German military information scandal, the chancellor of this country announced that it will not supply the Taros missiles to Ukraine. |
On Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Schulz confirmed the refusal to provide Taurus missiles to Ukraine, and at the same time emphasized the abandonment of this issue, as it would require the participation of German military personnel in the war in Ukraine.
According to the DPA news agency, during his visit to the city of Sindelfingen in the southwest of Germany, the German chancellor described the discussion about the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Taros missiles as a strange negotiation and emphasized: It is not so. It is not possible to provide a military system with a very long range.
Nevertheless, the chancellor did not mention the issue of revealing the wiretapped conversation between German army officers, during which the possibility of attacking the Crimean bridge with Taurus missiles was discussed.
On March 1, RT TV channel editor Margarita Simonyan reported that on the day German Chancellor Olaf Schultz said NATO was not and would not be involved in the Ukraine conflict, senior German officers discussed the possibility of attacking the Crimean bridge. Simonian pointed to the existence of a certified audio file and later released a transcript of the conversation, in which officers discussed the ability of Taurus missiles to destroy the Crimean bridge and discussed details of preparations for the attack.
The German government denied that the recorded conversation of senior German military officials, during which the possibility of attacking the Crimean bridge was raised, indicated that Germany was ready for war with Russia. Wolfgang Buchner, the deputy spokesman of the German government, claimed in a press conference on Monday: “It is quite clear that the statements that this conversation proves that Germany is ready for war with Russia are ridiculous and cruel Russian propaganda.
At the same time, the German state news agency confirmed the authenticity of the leaked audio file and the German authorities announced that they will look for how this file got into the hands of Russia.
