Draft US resolution in support of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza

By changing its position on the draft resolution of the UN Security Council, America has supported an immediate 6-week ceasefire in Gaza along with the release of all prisoners.

A third version of the text of the draft, first proposed by the United States 2 weeks ago, now reflects the frank remarks of Kamala Harris, vice president of Joe Biden, about a “temporary ceasefire” in Gaza.
According to Reuters, the United States wants any Security Council support for the ceasefire to be linked to the release of Zionist prisoners in Gaza.

Washington was also against the term ceasefire and vetoed three resolutions of the Security Council, two of which requested an immediate ceasefire, and recently justified this action by saying that such a resolution, the actions and efforts of Egypt, America and Qatar in mediating the end of the war and the release of captives.

U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that it is up to Hamas to accept the ceasefire agreement.

The United States has also said it intends to allow time for negotiations on its draft and will not rush to a vote. To be approved, a resolution needs at least 9 votes in favor and no vetoes from the US, France, England, Russia or China.

Diplomatic sources also told Al Jazeera that the United States is circulating a draft resolution at the Security Council that supports a six-week ceasefire in Gaza. These sources added that the American draft resolution calls for the release of all Zionist prisoners in Gaza after approval by all parties.

Tass news agency also wrote, Seymour Hersh, a well-known American investigative journalist, wrote from the intelligence sources of this country that Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, knows more about the Zionist prisoners than he says.

He added: The American intelligence community has reasons for this claim, and based on the same reasons, I say that Netanyahu has more information than he tells the people about the condition of Israeli prisoners. Israeli prisoners are the main driver for Israel to consider and consider a ceasefire agreement.
