Beijing: Washington cannot restrict China’s right to develop
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China warned about the action of the United States in limiting China's legitimate right to develop under the slogan of competition. |
Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference this Friday that China opposes the US action in limiting China’s legitimate right to develop under the slogan of competition.
Mao Ning said: We are against the definition of China-US relations as competition and the American side’s restriction of China’s legitimate right to develop under the slogan of competition.
He emphasized that China and the United States should not be guided in their relations by principles in which one wins and the other loses, or one develops and the other weakens.
This speaker emphasized once again that the relations between the two countries should not be considered as a “zero sum game” and the word competition should not be used to define them.
He concluded by saying that Beijing opposes Washington’s “attack and tarnishing” China’s name.
