The British Parliament’s budget control committee reported that the British Ministry of Defense is facing the largest budget deficit in the last 12 years for the purchase and maintenance of military equipment, which costs 17 billion pounds.
Referring to this report, the British Ministry of Defense has announced that it has allocated a budget of 288.6 billion pounds for the current plan to purchase and maintain military equipment for the next ten years.
According to this report, published on the website of the British Parliament, “but the projected costs increased by 65.7 billion pounds to 305.5 billion pounds, which resulted in a deficit of 16.9 billion.”
Grant Shapps, the head of the British Ministry of Defense, said on March 7 that the country will supply more than 10,000 drones to Ukraine instead of 4,000. As the minister noted, the number of drones transferred to Kyiv has increased due to the increase of 125 million pounds in the financial package of Ukraine. In this way, the total aid to this country will amount to 325 million pounds.
