The era of peace is over/we must prepare for war
Presenting a dark picture of the future, caused by the escalation of tensions with Russia, the Prime Minister of Poland said that the era of peace in Europe is over. |
report Mehr News quoted by Rashatudi, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that the tensions arising from the escalation of tensions between Russia and Europe have led to the end of the era of peace in the Green Continent.
Tusk said: The era of peace and the post-war era have ended. We have entered a new era and the era before the war.
He added: The war against totalitarian practices, corruption and lies is going on in many fronts. And of course, the most dramatic effect is what is happening in Ukraine. We are faced with a simple choice; Either we fight to protect our borders, territory, and values and defend our citizens and future generations, or we accept the alternative, defeat.
Tusk made these statements while the Russia-Ukraine war entered its third year last month and many European countries canceled their commitments to continue military aid to Kiev. And they renewed the financing of Ukraine.
Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in February that the US-led military alliance must prepare for a war that could last decades.
Moscow has accused the West of igniting and fueling tensions, and the expansion of NATO towards Eastern Europe is one of the main reasons for the war with Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said last year that the main goal of the West is the “collapse” of Russia.
