Guterres: Despite the start of Ramadan, bloodshed continues in Gaza
The Secretary General of the United Nations announced that despite the beginning of the month of Ramadan, the killing continues in Gaza, while the measures to achieve a ceasefire have not yet been reached. |
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres told reporters on Monday: Although the month of Ramadan has begun, killing, bombing and bloodshed are still continuing in Gaza.
He requested to lay down weapons in honor of the month of Ramadan and remove all obstacles to guarantee the delivery of life-saving aid to the people of Gaza.
The Secretary General of the United Nations further emphasized: We demand the release of all prisoners. The world and history are watching. We cannot turn away. We must act to prevent more deaths.
He warned that Israel’s threat to attack the city of Rafah in the south of Gaza, where more than one million Palestinians have taken refuge, could lead the people of Gaza to a more difficult situation.
The aggression of the Zionist regime has made 80% of Gaza’s 2.3 million population homeless and hundreds of thousands of people have faced hunger.
The Ministry of Health of Gaza has announced that at least 31,112 Palestinians have been martyred since the start of the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
