Reuters: The negotiations between Iraq and the United States will not be concluded until the end of the 2024 elections
The Reuters news agency quoted an anonymous Iraqi official as saying: the negotiations for the withdrawal of the US-led coalition forces from the respective country will not yield results until the end of the 2024 US presidential elections. |
Reuters wrote on Tuesday, quoting an unnamed senior Iraqi government official, that negotiations between Washington and Baghdad to end the presence of the US-led military coalition may end after the 2024 presidential election. It doesn’t work.
The American presidential election will be held on November 15, 1403.
Reuters wrote that Washington and Baghdad started talks in January this year to reassess the US-led anti-ISIS coalition in Iraq.
This decision was taken after US forces and militia groups carried out attacks against each other in the midst of regional conflicts related to Israel’s war in Gaza.
These conflicts have been stopped for more than a month to prepare the ground for negotiations.
Earlier, Mohammad Al-Dulaimi, one of the leaders of the Al-Anbar Al-Mutahed coalition, said about the withdrawal of American forces from the Ain al-Assad base that what the United States government is proposing about the plan to withdraw its forces from this base does not correspond to reality.
He added: Such comments are consumed by the media and the goal is to save time and stay for a long time for reasons that are clear to everyone.
Al-Dulaimi emphasized: America uses media tactics far from reality. The troops present at the Ain al-Assad base are combat troops.
The American occupying forces along with other foreign military forces have been stationed in Iraq since 2003 in the form of what they call the international coalition. /p>
