Bloomberg: America needs the support of its partners in a military conflict with China

Bloomberg reports that in the event of a new large-scale conflict, for example with China, the United States will depend on its regional partners, as American weapons stockpiles have been severely depleted by the war in Ukraine and the West Asia.

The agency notes that the conflicts in Ukraine and the West Asia have led to a reduction in US weapons stockpiles and concerns about the state of the country’s defense industrial base.

In a possible future conflict, especially with China, the United States may not be able to produce all the weapons it needs to win.

At the same time, Bloomberg notes that existing laws and bureaucratic inertia do not allow the United States to fully exploit the industrial potential of its allies.

The article notes that in a possible conflict with China, the United States could use up its entire arsenal of long-range anti-ship missiles in a week, each of which would take two years to produce. Additionally, US shipyards don’t have time to repair ships, let alone build new ones, while China can ramp up production relatively quickly.

According to the agency, US alliances with partners in the region, such as South Korea, Japan and Australia, are “critical to deterring Beijing.” It is emphasized that closer military-industrial cooperation with these countries will expand the common potential. However, as Bloomberg notes, such cooperation is hampered by a number of restrictions, including strict US export controls as well as rules designed to prevent the leakage of American weapons technology.

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that peaceful coexistence is the basis of US-China relations, and the consequences of a conflict between the two great powers cannot be imagined.
