The possibility of independent candidacy of Senator Menendez in the American elections
According to sources, Senator Bob Menendez plans to run as an independent candidate in the November election. |
Many rumors indicate that Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, the chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, may appear as an independent candidate for the November elections.
According to Pravda, Menendez refused to answer when a TV reporter asked him if he would run as an independent candidate in the presidential elections in November.
Currently, Menendez faces 18 federal charges, some of which he has been acquitted of. However, he has not yet publicly announced whether he will run for the Senate again this year or not.
Previously, the Democratic senator of New Jersey – for the second time in the last 10 years – and his wife Nadine Arslanian were accused by federal prosecutors of “taking bribes”.
Menendez, 69, became the first senator in US history to be charged with two separate crimes. Having served as a senator from New Jersey since 2006, he is expected to run for Congress again in the 2024 US presidential election.
