America’s use of hackers to attack Russian elections

The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the US is trying to influence the Russian elections by using false information and hackers.

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, revealed that Washington has prepared a package of misleading information to be released on the eve of the Russian presidential election in order to influence the election process.

According to Al-Mayadin report, Zakharova added: Washington has done a lot to intimidate people in terms of political content and false information about candidates, political parties and personalities.

He announced that the US is using electronic hackers to influence the voting process in the Russian presidential election.

On the other hand, the ruling United Russia party in Russia confirmed this Saturday that it is facing a massive cyber attack that is disrupting the use of the Internet and targeting its services.

Previously, Gennady Askaldovich, Ambassador-at-Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, announced that electronic voting in the Russian presidential election is not possible from abroad due to cyber security threats.

Russian presidential elections will be held in three days on March 15, 16 and 17, 2024.

Candidates for the post of president of the country in this election period, the current president Vladimir Putin (independent candidate) and 3 candidates from the representative parties in the parliament named Leonid Slutsky (Liberal Democratic Party), Vladislav Davankov (New People’s Party) and Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation).
