At the beginning of this meeting, the Deputy Economic Minister of Foreign Affairs explained the importance of the wide and diverse aspects of the relations and economic cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the two countries of Iraq and Syria, and from the private sectors And the government of our country asked them to pay more attention to the development of economic relations with these countries in all fields. In order to help companies active or eager to operate in Iraq and Syria and solve some of their problems, Damascus stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Deputy Economic Diplomacy will not hesitate to make any effort to facilitate and smooth the operating conditions of these companies.

He pointed out that after transitioning from a period of internal crisis, Syria is fully prepared to rebuild and implement civil, economic and industrial projects, he added: We must try to participate in the existing projects and this is not possible without coordination, concentration and cooperation of all the departments involved in the work.

Mehdi Shushtri, Director General of West Asia and North Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also presented a report on the state of our country’s economic relations with Syria in this meeting and pointed out the variety of cooperation issues in this Mand added: Many of the remaining issues have been resolved in the dialogue with the Syrian authorities and new understandings have been made for the development of relations, including the agreements and understandings made in the fields of insurance, banking and foreign exchange issues, signing the joint trade addendum. He pointed out the creation of special economic and industrial zones, customs and transportation cooperation. Iraq pointed out for our country in the political, economic and commercial fields: the defined goal in the field of economic relations with Iraq is to reach the ceiling of 20 billion dollars in trade with this country by 1406, which is defined by the definition of construction, commercial, industrial projects and also strengthening Banking, transportation and customs cooperation. We hope to achieve this goal in the next three years.

In the continuation of this meeting, the representatives of the companies active in Syria expressed the areas of activity and the existing obstacles to carry out the projects agreed with this country.

At the end of this meeting, the Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy stressed the importance of focusing on the development of economic relations with the countries of the region, especially the two countries of Iraq and Syria, and added: the field of economic activity in all areas, including the export of services Technical and engineering, science and technology, health and treatment, agriculture and energy are available in these two countries and we should try to take control of various plans and projects in these countries.
