Declaring a state of emergency in Iceland following the fourth volcanic eruption

Following the eruption of the volcano for the fourth time since December last year, a state of emergency was declared in the southern peninsula of Iceland.

report Mehr News Agency quoted by France 24, following the eruption of molten material in the fourth volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland since December last year, the Icelandic authorities declared a state of emergency.

Iceland’s Meteorological Department announced this news in a statement by releasing video images of the eruption of fire lava and thick smoke in this volcano.

Iceland’s crisis management organization announced that a helicopter was sent to the area to determine the exact extent of the volcano eruption and the authorities declared a state of emergency.

According to the announcement of the Meteorological Department of Iceland, the latest eruption is near the same place where the fire lava came out on February 8. The lava is said to be moving toward a barrier to the south that was built to protect the fishing village of Grindavik.

Also, residents of this area have been warned to evacuate due to the volcanic eruption being too close to residential areas.
