Moscow’s response to the proposal of a ceasefire in Ukraine during the Olympic Games

In response to Macron's proposal to start a ceasefire in Ukraine during the Olympics, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it would be better for Paris to stop sending weapons to Ukraine.

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, before talking about the ceasefire in the Olympic Games, suggested to French President Emmanuel Macron to stop the delivery of weapons to Ukraine and support for terrorism.

According to the report of Ria Novosti, he said: I propose to Macron to stop the delivery of weapons to Kiev, which are used to kill civilians, and to stop supporting terrorism.

The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry also advised Macron to present a similar proposal to the parties involved in West Asia. Zakharova declared: Probably many things depend on the French language there.

The President of France said earlier that he will offer Russia a ceasefire in Ukraine for the duration of the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.

Earlier on February 26, the French president declared in a belligerent speech that the deployment of NATO forces in Ukraine and other allies cannot be ruled out, because the Western powers must not stop and must ensure that Russia does not defeat the forces of Kiev.

In this regard, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournay fundamentally rejected the idea of deploying NATO troops in Ukraine. Similarly, Macron tried to change his tone and said that rejecting an issue does not mean doing it. He did not rule out the deployment of troops in Ukraine.
