The Central Election Commission of Russia announced that with 95% of the votes counted in the presidential election of this country, the current president Vladimir Putin is leading the election with 87.32% of the votes.
The other three candidates each got less than five percent of the votes. Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party won 4.28% of the votes, Vladislav Davankov from the New People’s Party won 3.85%, and Leonid Salotsky, the candidate of the Liberal Democracy Party, won 3.15% of the votes. Putin said that he is going to meet with his electoral rivals on Monday.
