report Mehr News Agency quoted US News, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency said about the desire of some Arab countries in the West Asian region to develop their nuclear program.
Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, announced on Monday in a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani in Baghdad that the agency will help Iraq to to develop its peaceful nuclear program.
The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency emphasized that a team of Iraqi experts will visit the headquarters of the Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna in a few days to discuss the increased interest to nuclear energy in the region, especially among the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, to hold meetings to determine the roadmap for Iraq’s peaceful nuclear program.
Grossi told reporters that he witnessed the interest of the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and of course Iraq in developing a peaceful nuclear program.
“Naeem Al-Abudi”, the Iraqi Minister of Education, after the meeting between Grossi and the Prime Minister of Iraq, announced to the reporters that Baghdad is working with the Director General of the Agency regarding several projects in Iraq. including the construction of a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes.
