Phone call between Biden and Netanyahu amid tensions in Gaza

US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu talked to each other on the phone amid tensions between the two sides regarding Gaza.

The White House announced on Monday that Biden spoke with Netanyahu about recent developments in Israel and Gaza, including the situation in Rafah and efforts to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza.

This phone call is made while Chuck Schumer, the leader of the majority of the Senate and the highest-ranking Jewish official in the history of the United States, called for new elections in the occupied territories last week, which caused protest reactions from the Zionist authorities.

Schumer said on the floor of the US Senate that Netanyahu is an obstacle to peace in the West Asia and that he has lost his way by prioritizing his political salvation over the interests of Israel.

Appreciating the senior senator’s speech, Biden described it as a good speech. However, the White House later announced that Biden does not want new elections or change Netanyahu.

One of the biggest disagreements between Biden and Netanyahu is about the fate of Rafah, which the Zionist regime has announced plans to attack this city, which is home to more than one million Palestinians.

The Israeli Prime Minister said on Sunday that he plans to continue the military campaign against Rafah, even though the United States and other Israeli allies have asked him not to attack the city in the southern Gaza Strip.
