Sunak: England will deport illegal asylum seekers to Rwanda in the spring
The British Prime Minister announced the deportation of illegal asylum seekers to Rwanda based on previous plans. |
The refugee crisis in 2015 caused a rift among EU members. Perhaps one of the main reasons for England’s withdrawal from this union is London’s opposition to refugee policies and the vulnerability of the green continent to this issue. Now the British government is looking to get rid of asylum seekers at any cost.
According to the Reuters news agency, British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak announced today (Monday) that he still expects the government to start the process of deporting illegal asylum seekers from the country and sending them to Rwanda in the spring.
He said: I still adhere to the previously planned schedule. Based on this planning, flights to Rwanda to transfer refugees will begin in the spring.
Referring to the problems caused by the refugee crisis for the UK, Sonak noted: It is very important that we implement the Rwanda plan, because we need to have a deterrent against illegal immigration.
The British Supreme Court had previously opposed the plan to deport illegal asylum seekers to Rwanda. However, the British House of Commons approved this plan and now the British government is looking to implement it.
