The Israeli army released the Al Jazeera journalist after 12 hours

Al Jazeera Qatar announced that the Israeli army has released Ismail al-Ghul, the reporter of this network, and a number of other journalists after being detained for 12 hours.

Qatar’s Al Jazeera network reported that Israeli forces arrested the reporter of this network on Monday morning during the attack of Israeli forces on Shafa Hospital in Gaza City.

After his release, Ismail al-Ghul emphasized that the soldiers of the Israeli regime kept him and other journalists naked for 12 hours with their hands and eyes blindfolded.

According to him, the soldiers of the Zionist regime severely beat him before arresting him.

Earlier, the Deputy Spokesman of the US Foreign Ministry demanded an explanation from the Israeli regime following the arrest and captivity of an Al Jazeera reporter.

Vedant Patel, Deputy Spokesman of the US State Department, told reporters on Monday local time about the Al Jazeera reporter who was captured by Israel on Monday. We asked for information and explanation.

On Monday, Israeli soldiers beat Al-Jazeera reporter Ismail al-Ghul inside the city’s medical complex and then captured him.

Qatar’s Al Jazeera network also demanded the immediate release of Ismail al-Ghul, the reporter of this news network, who was arrested by Israeli forces during the Israeli army’s attack on Shefa hospital in Gaza.

Al Jazeera has emphasized that arresting journalists and targeting them in Shefa Hospital is an attempt by the Zionist occupation army to create terror among the media in order to prevent the coverage of the crimes of this regime in Gaza.

Ireen Khan, the UN special rapporteur for freedom of expression and opinion, said in a conversation with Al Jazeera that it is shocking to see this kind of treatment by the Zionist regime’s military with Gaza journalists.

He added: [the regime] Israel ignores the rules of international law regarding the treatment of journalists in Gaza.

On October 15, 1402, on October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched a surprise operation called “Al-Aqsa Storm” from Gaza (southern Palestine) against the positions of the Israeli regime. On November 24, 2023, a four-day temporary ceasefire was established between Israel and Hamas, or a pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel.

This pause in the war continued for 7 days and finally on the morning of Friday, December 10, 2023, the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks on Gaza. In order to retaliate for the surprise attacks of the “Al-Aqsa storm” and to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.
