General strike pending in French public service sector
Several public service unions in France have issued a call for a nationwide strike in the country. |
According to Mehr News Agency to France’s eight public service unions are calling on 5.7 million public members to mobilize across France on Tuesday over pay.
The reason for the strike is the lack of prospects for general measures to increase wages in public services in a situation where inflation is still stable.
According to media reports, the strike is likely to affect public schools, middle schools and high schools.
According to the Union of Middle and High Schools, 120 demonstrations are expected across France. Elementary, middle and high school teachers have already warned many parents of students about closing classes or reducing the timetable due to the deterioration of their working conditions.
Apart from National Education, the five main general hospital service unions also called for a strike.
