The United States has extended UNRWA financial sanctions until March 2025

The United States has announced that it will continue to withhold financial aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) until March 2025.
According to Reuters, two well-informed sources have announced that funding for the international agency UNRWA will be suspended for a year, and instead, details of alternative efforts to provide aid to the Gaza Strip will be discussed.
The U.S. Senate last month passed legislation to freeze aid to UNRWA as part of a $95 billion aid package to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, while the bill is still awaiting approval by the House of Representatives.
The cutoff of American financial aid to this agency took place last January after the occupation regime of Israel claimed that 12 of its employees were involved in the events of October 7.
This American action takes place at a time when the Gaza Strip is suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis of this century, as the occupiers continue to wage war and genocide against the people of the Gaza Strip and target them with American weapons.
