According to the Guardian, Burrell emphasized: “They (the people of Gaza) are dying of hunger; So I hope that the Council of the European Union will send a strong message to Israel, remove the barriers to the entry of aid and take care of civilians.”
Borrell emphasized before the meeting that EU officials will “go much further than the past” in today’s meeting and will demand a “sustainable ceasefire” in Gaza.
Earlier, a high-ranking official of the German government said that the “realistic” scenario after the Gaza war will be discussed in this meeting.
It should be said that the Zionist regime has martyred more than 31,000 Palestinians since October 7. It is said that the actual number of martyrs is much higher than this and many victims are still trapped under the rubble.
According to UN statistics, the occupying army has so far displaced more than 80% of the population of Gaza and destroyed 60% of the infrastructure in this area. Efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza have been ongoing for weeks. The US foreign minister claimed yesterday that the parties are “close” to establishing a ceasefire.
