Asif said: “Force is the last resort. We do not want to have an armed conflict with Afghanistan.
He warned that Islamabad could block the route provided to Afghanistan for trade with India.
Pakistan’s defense minister said: “Pakistan has the right to stop providing facilities to Kabul if it fails to contain anti-Pakistani terrorists operating in Afghanistan.”
Pakistan confirmed on Monday the conduct of anti-terrorist operations along the borders of Afghanistan, targeting the terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban and its affiliated groups.
These attacks came after Tehreek terrorists killed seven soldiers in an attack on a regional military base in Pakistan’s North Waziristan border region on Saturday.
United Nations intelligence assessments confirm the presence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Afghanistan.
Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist attacks since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in August 2021. Taliban rejects harboring anti-Pakistan terrorists.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid warned about the serious consequences of such actions with a strong reaction to Monday’s attacks in which 8 civilians were killed.
Asif said: “If they harm us, we will have to take countermeasures.”
