The trip of the North Korean delegation to China, Vietnam and Laos

In the shadow of Pyongyang's resumption of relations with ASEAN countries, a delegation from North Korea has traveled to China, Vietnam and Laos.

Yonhap reported this Friday, quoting the North Korean state media, that the North Korean ruling party delegation arrived in China a few moments ago on a trip to three countries (China, Vietnam and Laos).

The delegation will be led by the director of the Workers’ Party’s international division, Kim Song-nam, who made his first known foreign trip since being appointed to the post in 2012, according to the report.

In a separate report, Pyongyang indicated that the delegation would also visit Vietnam and Laos. The trip is said to come as North Korea appears to be resuming diplomatic engagement with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
