The draft of the US resolution on Gaza was vetoed by China and Russia
The draft of the American resolution on Gaza, whose clauses were unilaterally in favor of the Zionist regime, was vetoed by Russia and China. |
report Mehr News quoted by Al Jazeera website, the representative of Russia in the United Nations vetoed the draft resolution proposed by the United States on Gaza.
Vasily Nebenzia, in his speech before the vote, said that the draft resolution proposed by the United States closes the doors to a ceasefire, leaves Israel’s hands open, and causes the forced migration of the people of Gaza. The senior Russian diplomat also said that the draft resolution proposed by the US does not call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The representative of Russia in the Security Council said: “Gaza has been destroyed after 6 months and the American representative has now realized the necessity of a ceasefire.” The US draft resolution on Gaza does not call for a ceasefire. The negotiations that the Americans participated in regarding Gaza were only meant to delay things. If this resolution is approved, the discussion about the situation in Gaza will be closed and Israel’s hand will be opened there. The non-permanent members of the Security Council have prepared another non-political resolution on Gaza
The opposition of China and Russia and the use of the right of veto, caused the resolution considered by America not to be voted. Eleven members of the UN Security Council voted in favor, three members voted against and one member abstained.
This draft, desired by the Americans, “determines the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire” but fails to demand it. The Russian delegation to the United Nations today at the Security Council meeting “Russia criticized this draft for not explicitly calling for a ceasefire in Gaza,” he said. This document contains all the past distortions and unacceptable one-sided condemnations that show American deception.”
The United States has already three times vetoed the resolutions presented by other countries that demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
