UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who went to the Rafah crossing to emphasize the ceasefire, said during this trip: “I came to Rafah to focus on the pain of the Palestinians in Gaza. Here, from this crossing, we see the heartbreak [of the people of Gaza].
According to Al Jazeera, Guterres went on to say: “We see a long line of aid trucks blocked on one side of the crossing and the long shadow of people’s hunger on the other side.” It is sad beyond words. This is a moral insult.”
The UN Secretary General criticized the blocking of aid and said: “Israel must give full and unrestricted access to humanitarian goods throughout Gaza. We continue to work with Egypt to streamline the flow of aid.”
