Hamas’s reaction to the plan of the Zionist regime regarding the exchange of prisoners

A high-ranking official of Hamas, in response to the plan of the Zionist regime regarding the exchange of prisoners, said that this regime seeks to create obstacles in the way of any agreement.

This unnamed Hamas leader emphasized in a conversation with Al Jazeera that the position of the Zionist regime, which the Egyptian and Qatari mediators were informed about, is very negative and its purpose is to block any agreement.

In a conversation with Al Jazeera on Saturday night, knowledgeable sources revealed the plan of the Zionist regime in negotiations with Hamas for the exchange of prisoners and said that this plan is actually against the cessation of war and international efforts.

These sources, whom Al Jazeera did not mention by name, told this Qatari channel that Tel Aviv’s unreasonable demands include opposition to issues such as the cessation of war, the withdrawal of its forces from the Gaza Strip, and the unconditional return of refugees.

These sources also said that Israel stipulated that 40 Israeli prisoners be released in the first phase of the agreement, and Tel Aviv’s plan includes a 3-phase agreement.

According to the reports of these sources, the Zionist regime has also proposed that 2,000 Palestinian refugees return to the north of the Gaza Strip on a daily basis 2 weeks before the start of the implementation of the agreement.

In continuation of the extravagance of the Israeli regime, it has been stated that this regime has opposed Hamas’ request to release 30 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in exchange for the release of a female soldier.

These sources said: Israel has only agreed to release 5 of the prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and said that it will determine the people who should be released, not Hamas.

One of the other conditions of the Zionist regime is that prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment must be transferred outside of Palestine if they are released.

This is not the first time that the Zionist regime has obstructed the process of negotiations for the exchange of prisoners with the resistance, an action which has caused a wave of anger among the Zionists and has brought the families of Israeli prisoners to the streets in protest of this obstruction.
