Italy: Macron is dangerous for Europe

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini accused French President Emmanuel Macron of endangering the European continent by refusing to reject sending Western troops to Ukraine.

According to Al-Sharq report, Salvini’s comments were during a gathering in Rome for European right-wing and nationalist leaders to support the elections that are to be held next June. During a meeting organized by the Identity and Democracy bloc in the European Parliament, Salvini said that Macron’s proposal last month to send troops to Ukraine was too dangerous and too unbalanced.

Salvini added in his speech: I believe that President Macron poses a danger to our country and our continent with his words. Our problem is warmongers like the French president who talk about war as if there is no problem at the moment. I don’t want to hand over to our children a continent that is preparing to enter World War III.

Before, Emmanuel Macron did not rule out sending Western troops to Ukraine. Commenting on this matter later, Macron said that he spoke fully knowingly about the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine, and that he weighed his words and announced them carefully. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said earlier that the defeat of Ukraine in the current conflict will lead to a direct military conflict between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Russia.

In this regard, Pyotr Tolstoy, the deputy head of the Russian State Duma, in response to France’s move to transfer military forces to Ukraine, emphasized that Russian military forces will eliminate all French soldiers in Ukraine.
