Elena Romanovsky, the American ambassador in Baghdad, claimed: “ISIS is still a threat in Iraq, and the work of the international coalition led by the United States with Iraq for the final defeat of this group is not yet complete.”
According to Baghdad Al-Youm, senior Iraqi politicians including “Mohammed Shia al-Sudani”, the prime minister of Iraq, have repeatedly stated that ISIS is no longer a threat in Iraq and there is no need for the presence of the international coalition in this country.
Romanovski added. “We believe that ISIS is still a threat in Iraq, the threat of this group is greatly reduced, but nevertheless our work is not finished in the final form, we want to make sure that Iraqi forces can continue to permanently defeat ISIS.”
