Hamas: The Israeli army must withdraw from Gaza
The Hamas movement welcomed the resolution of the Security Council and demanded the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza. |
The approval of the Security Council resolution on Gaza finally ended nearly 6 months of inaction of this council. However, it is unlikely that the Zionist regime will agree to the establishment of a ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid into this zone.
According to Al Jazeera, the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas) issued a statement today (Monday), welcoming the approval of the UN Security Council resolution regarding the Gaza war and calling for a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Zionist army from this strip.
The statement published by this group reads:
1- It is necessary to reach a permanent ceasefire during which the Israeli forces completely withdraw from Gaza. IDPs should also be able to return to their homes in different areas of this strip.
2- We are ready to exchange prisoners as soon as possible. This should lead to the release of our prisoners from the prisons of the Zionist regime.
3- In the text of the resolution that was approved today in the Security Council, the importance of freedom of movement of Palestinians in Gaza and access to humanitarian aid in all of this area has been emphasized, and this should be implemented.
4- We ask the UN Security Council to put pressure on the Zionist regime to adhere to the ceasefire and stop the war in Gaza.
5- This resolution has approved the rights of Palestinians to form an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
At the end, Hamas announced its readiness to adhere to this agreement and conduct negotiations in order to exchange prisoners, establish a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and rebuild this barrier.
