White House: US policy on Gaza war has not changed

The spokesman of the White House announced that there is no change in the US policy regarding the Gaza war despite the approval of the resolution in the Security Council.

The UN Security Council resolution on Gaza was approved today (Monday) with 14 votes in favor and the US abstaining. Although Tel Aviv expected Washington to veto this resolution, American officials showed their double-sided policy by abstaining.

According to Al Jazeera, the White House announced today that despite the abstention vote on the UN Security Council resolution on Gaza, the US policy on this matter will not change.

White House spokesman John Kirby said: Our abstention vote on this resolution does not mean a change in our policies regarding this issue. However, because the final resolution lacked the language we wanted, including condemning Hamas for the October 7th attack, we abstained and avoided voting for it.

Kirbi went on to point to the continued full support of the US to the Zionist regime, and added: US officials are extremely disappointed with Netanyahu’s decision to cancel the dispatch of Israeli advisers to Washington to discuss the operation in Rafah.

Zionist media reported earlier that Netanyahu threatened to cancel the meeting with the White House delegation to Tel Aviv if Washington does not veto the current resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

According to the plans made, the White House delegation led by Ron Dermer, Minister of Strategic Affairs; and National Security Adviser Tzachi Hangbi were supposed to meet with Netanyahu, but now the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime is waiting for the outcome of the Security Council meeting to finalize this meeting.

It should be said that before this, the United States vetoed the resolutions proposed by other members of the Security Council 3 times due to Israel’s request. All these resolutions called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
