Colombian President Gustavo Petro asked the international community to cut off diplomatic relations with Israel if Israel does not comply with the ceasefire resolution in Gaza.
According to the report of Anatoly on Monday night, after the resolution was voted in the UN Security Council, Petro wrote in his social media X account: Finally, the cease-fire resolution in Gaza was unanimously approved in the UN Council, I am one of the countries of the world. I invite them to cut off their diplomatic relations with Israel if they violate the ceasefire.
The immediate ceasefire resolution in Gaza was finally approved after nearly 6 months of war in Gaza on Monday local time, April 6, 1403, equal to March 25, 2024, in the UN Security Council, which called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The month of Ramadan has come to lead to a lasting ceasefire.
14 of the 15 members of the UN Security Council voted in favor of and supported the resolution presented by the non-permanent members of the council to establish an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and the United States of America, as a permanent member of the council, abstained. And in this way, the resolution to establish a ceasefire in Gaza was approved.
America had previously vetoed three ceasefire resolutions, but this time it abstained from voting on this resolution, and in this way, due to the lack of opposition from the permanent members of the Security Council, this resolution was approved without any opposition.
This resolution was arranged by 10 non-permanent members of the Security Council. At the beginning of this meeting, the members of the United Nations Security Council first observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Crocus Hall terrorist incident in Moscow, and then the ambassador of Mozambique to the United Nations presented the draft resolution of the cease-fire in Gaza on behalf of other countries.
The 15-member Security Council has demanded an immediate ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza and the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners.
This resolution also called for an immediate ceasefire to be observed by all parties in the month of Ramadan, which would lead to a sustainable ceasefire. This resolution calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and guarantees humanitarian access to meet their medical and other humanitarian needs.
