According to the Reuters news agency, Wilmot Pai, the Minister of Mines of Liberia, announced today (Tuesday) that at least 7 people died after an accident in a gold mine in this country.

He pointed out: This incident happened in a mine that had been abandoned by its employer for several months. However, the exact number of casualties in this incident is still unknown and rescue teams have been sent to the area for search operations.

Local authorities say that there is a possibility of an increase in the number of casualties in this incident.

The reason for this incident has not yet been determined, but usually local people in Liberia engage in illegal gold mining activities due to the lack of jobs, and there is a history of such incidents in this country.
