Ukraine received 880 million dollars from the International Monetary Fund

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmihal announced that the International Monetary Fund has paid 880 million dollars to Kyiv in the third phase of its facility.

According to the Wednesday morning report of Ukraine Info, Shamihal stated that Ukraine is trying to fulfill its commitments to its partners in the best possible way, stating: this financial aid to Ukraine will help cover priority budget expenses and maintain financial and macroeconomic stability in this country.

Ukraine’s Prime Minister continued his speech and stated: We are grateful for the support and cooperation of the International Monetary Fund.

In April of last year, the International Monetary Fund announced that it had agreed to pay a loan of 15.6 billion dollars to Ukraine as part of a 115 billion dollar international aid to meet the country’s immediate needs in the war with Russia. It was the largest loan that the International Monetary Fund has granted to a country involved in a full-scale war.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed this decision of the International Monetary Fund and said: This is an important contribution to our fight against Russian aggression.

On February 21, 2022 (2nd March 1400), the President of Russia recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, criticizing the West’s inattention to Moscow’s security concerns. Three days later, on Thursday, February 24 ( March 5, 1400) also started a military operation that he called “special operations” against Ukraine, and in this way the tense relations between Moscow and Kiev turned into a military confrontation.
