Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has accused the Vente opposition movement of two assassination attempts against him in the past 15 days.

Maduro said in an interview with the country’s television that two groups were arrested in the last 15 days, one in Maturin and the other in Caracas. They wanted to assassinate me and have admitted it. These two groups are affiliated with the Vente terrorist group.

He added, on Monday, a group of armed people were identified by the people due to suspicious and strange behavior near the stage where I was supposed to give a speech that day. These people were under suspicion by taking pictures and making frequent phone calls.

Referring to these actions, Maduro asked the people and security forces of Venezuela to increase their vigilance.
