Egyptian sources: The occupying army plans to attack Rafah after Ramadan
Informed sources say that the occupying army has planned a ground attack on Rafah for the middle of April or the beginning of May. |
Al-Akhbar newspaper, quoting Egyptian sources, says that after the failure of the last round of negotiations in Qatar, the Zionist regime plans to prepare for a ground attack on Rafah, and this attack is likely to be carried out after will do from Eid al-Fitr.
According to The Times of Israel, citing Al-Akhbar, the ground attack on Rafah is planned for mid-April or early May at the latest, and will last between 4 and 8 weeks.
The Zionist authorities have claimed that during the attack, they will evacuate the civilian population of Gaza, which is more than 1.5 million people.
Al-Akhbar also reported that Cairo expressed its deep concern about the ground attack on Rafah, noting that this action will not only increase tensions in Gaza, but in the entire region.
Also, according to reports, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has rejected the request of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, to establish direct communication.
It should be mentioned that last week, after meeting with the US Secretary of State, Netanyahu said that the Zionist regime does not intend to cancel its plan to attack Rafah by ground and is ready to carry it out even without US support.
The war in Gaza entered the ceasefire period three days ago following the approval of the ceasefire resolution in the UN Security Council, but this ceasefire will only last until the end of Ramadan. It is said that after the American abstention vote and the approval of this resolution, the relations between Tel Aviv and Washington became tense and the visit of the Zionist delegation to Washington, which was supposed to discuss the Rafah operation, was canceled.
The city of Rafah is located in the south of the Gaza Strip and is the last refuge of Palestinians who have been displaced from their homes since the beginning of the war and settled in camps in the south of Gaza.
