Approval of the new US military package for Israel

The Washington Post reported on Friday, citing Pentagon and State Department officials, that US President Joe Biden’s administration “quietly approved a new military package for Israel that includes approved bombs and fighter jets.

The package said to have been approved this week includes more than 1,800 2,000-pound MK84 bombs and 500 500-pound MK82 bombs.

This action comes as Washington has asked Israel to find an alternative solution to its planned military operation in Rafah so as not to endanger more than 1.4 million civilians in the region. However, despite these statements, the United States has emphasized that it supports Israel’s efforts to defend itself against Hamas.
