America: Parts of northern Gaza are suffering from famine

The senior US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters: “It is safe to say that the risk of famine in southern and central Gaza is high, but it hasn’t happened yet.” This is despite the fact that famine has probably occurred in at least some areas of northern Gaza.

This official added: One of the biggest issues that limits the distribution of aid in the Gaza Strip is the lack of trucks in this strip.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has announced that it has more than 200 trucks for the distribution of aid in Gaza, some of which are badly damaged, but can still be used.

While the United Nations has emphasized that there is not enough help to enter Gaza.

Organizations related to the United Nations have warned that there may be a famine in the north of the Gaza Strip next month and it will spread to other parts of the strip by July.

In this situation, Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman of the UN Secretary General, has named “lack of security, Israel’s non-cooperation, lack of trucks and fuel” as “big challenges” in the process of distributing aid in Gaza.

Palestinian resistance groups started the “Al-Aqsa storm” operation from Gaza (southern Palestine) against the positions of the Israeli regime on October 15, 2023. In order to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombing this area.

The Ministry of Health of Gaza announced on Friday that the number of martyrs reached 32,623 and the number of injured reached 75,92.
