Japan and European Union talks to cut dependence on China

Japan and the European Union are considering negotiating advanced raw materials for the next generation of chips.

The rise of China is considered the biggest threat to American hegemony in the international system. As Beijing seeks regional hegemony similar to what the United States has created in the Western Hemisphere, the Western Front has sought to implement a policy of containment against China in order to prevent this from happening. Severing dependence in sensitive areas is one of these cases.

According to Reuters news agency, Japan and the European Union plan to start talks on cooperation on advanced raw materials for the next generation of microchips and batteries.

Nikki News Agency of Japan announced: These negotiations are being conducted in order to end dependence on China.

Ileana Ivanova, EU Commissioner for Innovation and Research, told Business Daily: Creating a framework for dialogue on advanced raw materials to make next-generation chips and batteries will benefit both parties.

The Niki news agency says that the framework of these negotiations proposed by Europe can start in early April. The main goal of these negotiations will be to stop dependence on China, especially in rare and key raw materials, especially in the field of electric car batteries.

Previously, the United States and the European Union sought to prevent the superiority of this country in the field of technology by stopping the export of some advanced chips to China. However, Beijing responded to Western sanctions by banning the export of raw materials used in the manufacture of these chips.
