The statement published in this regard states: On Saturday night, during a routine check-up on Netanyahu, the medical team noticed a hernia in him. The 74-year-old Prime Minister of Israel is supposed to undergo complete anesthesia during his hernia operation, which will be performed later today.

This statement adds: Since the disease is not serious, Netanyahu will attend a press conference before the surgery. During the surgery, Justice Minister Yario Levin will act as the prime minister’s deputy.

Netanyahu will undergo hernia surgery today, as he was implanted with a pacemaker last July.
