The March 22 terrorist attack in a concert hall in Moscow is considered the deadliest terrorist attack in Russia in the last 20 years, which left 144 dead. Therefore, the security authorities of this country are looking for anti-terrorist operations throughout the country.
According to Reuters news agency, Russia’s anti-terrorist committee announced in a statement today (Sunday) that the security forces conducted an anti-terrorist operation in the southern region of Dagestan, during which 3 suspects were arrested.
This statement adds: During this operation, the security forces have arrested 3 suspects who were trying to carry out a number of terrorist acts. The inspections of the place of detention of these people led to the discovery of automatic weapons, ammunition, and an improvised bomb ready to be used in terrorist operations.
The Russian Anti-Terrorist Committee emphasizes: Terrorist suspects were arrested by the security services in several apartments in the residential areas of Makhachkala. This operation did not cause any casualties.
The Russian authorities have raised the security alert level to the highest level since March 22, when the terrorist operation took place in this country, and so far they have detained a number of suspects during various operations.
