According to the Reuters news agency, local authorities announced today (Monday) that five people died due to a falling tree after a strong storm with a speed of 155 km/h near the Tatra mountains in southern Poland.
Firefighters say that 2 adults and a child died after a tree fell in the city of Rabka-Gerouj. In a similar incident in Zakopane, a 23-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy died. So far, fire brigades have been dispatched to different areas 140 times to solve problems related to falling trees.
This fierce storm blew in this region after 3 days of abnormally hot weather.
The air temperature set a new record in this region on March 30 and reached above 26 degrees Celsius.
