Palestine’s request for permanent membership in the United Nations

Palestine seeks to become a permanent member of the United Nations in April.

Although the Zionist regime occupied the Palestinian land and created what is called Israel, in the international arena, Tel Aviv, with the cooperation of the United States and its allies, prevented Palestine from becoming an independent country. In fact, Palestine is not considered an independent country with sovereignty from the international point of view. The solution of two governments seeks to solve this problem, for which Israel is considered the biggest obstacle.

According to the Reuters news agency, the Palestinian Authority today (Monday) demanded a vote of the Security Council in this month (April) for Palestine’s permanent membership in the United Nations, a move that could be accompanied by a US veto.

Riyad Mansour, the representative of Palestine at the United Nations, said: Our plan is to vote on this issue on April 18 at the ministerial meeting on the situation in the West Asia. Our request for permanent membership, which was made in 2011, is still on the table because the Security Council never formally voted on it.

The two-state solution, which has been emphasized for years, by accepting Israel’s sovereignty over 78% of the Palestinian land, is seeking to form an independent Palestinian state in the remaining 22%, which includes the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

However, the Zionist regime is not willing to accept this issue and has settled 700,000 Zionists in the West Bank with extensive settlements. This amount is equivalent to 10% of Israel’s population, and considering Tel Aviv’s multi-billion dollar investments in this region, it is unlikely that Netanyahu’s government will want to retreat from its positions.

Palestine is currently an observer member of the United Nations.
