The Pentagon has confirmed that another American official has Havana syndrome

A Pentagon spokesman confirmed that an American official who traveled to Vilnius last year to participate in the NATO meeting was diagnosed with Havana syndrome.

The US Department of Defense confirmed on Monday that one of the country’s senior officials who attended the NATO meeting in Vilnius last year has symptoms similar to Havana syndrome.

According to the RT channel, Sabrina Singh, the Pentagon’s deputy spokeswoman, said at a press conference on Monday: I can confirm that a senior official of the Department of Defense is suffering from symptoms similar to those reported from an unusual syndrome.

Singh added that the official, whose identity was not disclosed, was not part of the official delegation that accompanied US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to Vilnius, but was there separately to participate in meetings that were part of the NATO summit.

Singh did not say for reasons of medical privacy whether the injured defense official should seek further medical attention, retire or be suspended from duty.

The White House confirmed on Monday that US intelligence does not believe that Russia is behind the so-called Havana syndrome, which has affected a number of US embassy workers around the world since 2016.

Still under investigation, Havana syndrome involves a series of health problems dating back to 2016, when officials at the U.S. Embassy in Havana reported experiencing sudden, unexplained brain pressure, headaches or earaches, or dizziness. /p>

Recently, the Insider publication, citing a research team in Riga, the capital of Lithuania, claimed in a report that some members of a Russian military intelligence unit called 29155 were present at the place where American government employees were involved in the Havana syndrome.

In this regard, the Kremlin denied the published reports about the involvement of the Russian intelligence agency behind the scenes of the Havana syndrome, which has affected American diplomats and spies around the world.
