According to Taiwanese authorities, a powerful earthquake that occurred off the coast of Taiwan on Wednesday morning caused the collapse of 26 buildings and caused significant damage across the region.
These earthquakes were felt all over the island and so far one person was killed and more than 50 people were injured.
In response to this disaster, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed his readiness to provide assistance to Taiwan if needed.

Tsunami warning in Japan
According to the announcement of the Japan National Meteorological Administration (JMA), a tsunami warning was issued in Okinawa, Japan, following a magnitude 7.5 earthquake in the southwest of this area (Taiwan waters).
The center of this earthquake was reported near the eastern coast of Taiwan, and about 15 minutes later, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred in the same area.
The National Meteorological Administration of Japan warned of the possible danger of a 3-meter tsunami, and the estimated time of impact on Miyakojima and Yayama is 09:10 a.m. local time. For the main island of Okinawa and its surrounding areas, the estimated time of arrival of the tsunami is around 10 am local time.
The NHK television network reported that a tsunami has reached Japan’s Unagoni Island following a 7.5-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Taiwan.
Details about the amount of damages or casualties caused by the tsunami entering the island have not yet been reported.
Philippines warned of high tsunami waves and issued evacuation orders
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) issued a tsunami warning following the 7.5-magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Taiwan on Wednesday.
Philippines ordered the evacuation of its coastal area facing the Pacific Ocean as tsunami waves are expected to be high and high.
